Welcome friends, to our dream project . A Panchayath Level Support Centre to the children with specific learning disorders .-SLDC CHERUPUZHA. this is the first one of its kind ever planned and executed WITH THE PROVISION OF MONETARY SUPPORT FOR Rs.2,00,000/- for the year 2022-23 and 2023-24 and executed by a Grama Panchayath in India.
THIS PROJECT is run by CHERUPUZHA GRAMAPANCHAYATH IN KANNUR DISTRICT, KERALA with the help of the State Resource Centre , Kerala; Creative Earth Mind Care ,Thaliparamba ( Study Centre in Kannur Distict) ; and MMLD -( Mission for management of learning disabilities ),a group of professionals with training in the Management of Learning Disorders .
A project commitee with K F ALEXANDER , the president of the Cherupuzha grama panchayath as the chairperson has been pioneering the project since its inauguration on 5 th Feb 2023
The department of Education has been intimated about our project and the BRC PAYYANNUR has been providing us ample support in running it.
OBJECTIVES
This project aims at
(1) assessing the children in this Panchayath with disorders in reading , writing , mathematical calculations with appropriate tools
(2) providing early intervention to the children with assessed learning issues using an I E P and one to one teaching situation with the help of professionals with training in the Management of Learning Disorders
(3) making sure that children get targetted remedial training offline or online for at least 6 months with a minimum of 50 hours out of which 12 classes (2 classes every month ) will be offline .
(4) reassessing the children after the completion of the targetted remedial teaching .
(5) making arrangements with the help of the Panchayath and the education department , Kerala for providing the required support to the children as per the reassessment and review report.
WHAT DO WE DO ?
( 1 ) WE SUPPORT the children with learning disorders in this Panchayath to get early intervention and remedial teaching with the help of an IEP and a UDL classroom.
( 2 ) We create awareness in the society-among the teachers , parents and students about R P W D ACT 2016, I E P and U D L
( 3 ) We help teachers ,educated parents and professionals to get trained in the Management of Learning Disorders .
(4) We conduct seminars ,debates and exhibitions to get the society acquinted and updated with the materials , methods , ideas and possibilities of M L D
